WinThello is an Othello/Reversi game, suited for the W95/W98/NT4 platform. It has been developed in C++.

The game engine is a major improvement of the game engine of the original Java applet, in a  number of ways:

• a transposition table is used to improve re-searching the game-tree
• move ordering has been improved
• alfa-beta has been refined to nega-scout
• the evaluation function has been improved

I let WinThello play against well known Othello programs like Forest, WZebra and some other Windows-based Othello games.  It turns out that WinThello doesn't play that bad at all!!

I didn't perform a thorough comparison test, so I'm interested in your feedback.
